Free chat rooms: one open room, people from everywhere
Sometimes you do not want a one-to-one. You want a room with noise in it. The FunChatX global chatroom is a single public room shared with FunChat, so there is nearly always someone talking. No registration, nothing to install.
Quick check that you are human:
No sign-up. You get a random name that you can change any time. Be kind: reports are read by real people.
What the FunChatX chatroom is
A chatroom is the oldest idea on the internet, and it still works: one open room, lots of people, everyone reading the same stream. No matching, no waiting for a stranger to say hello. You walk in, read what's being said, and join in when you feel like it.
The FunChatX global chatroom is shared with FunChat, so the room is rarely quiet. People drop in from India, the US, the UK, Pakistan, the Philippines and everywhere between. Mornings in one time zone are evenings in another, so there's almost always someone awake.
What you can do in the room
- Talk to everyone at once. Messages go to the whole room, newest at the bottom.
- Reply to a message. Tap it, choose Reply, and your answer shows the line you're answering, so threads stay readable.
- React with an emoji. A quick heart or laugh says it without cluttering the chat.
- See who is online. The online button at the top shows everyone currently in the room.
- Take a message back. Tap your own message and choose Delete if you wish you hadn't sent it.
- Report problems. Tap someone's message, then Report. Moderators review reports.
House rules, kept short
- Be decent. Banter is fine, harassment isn't.
- No links, spam or other-app handles. The room blocks them automatically.
- You must be 18 or older.
- Don't share personal details such as your address or phone number.
Chatroom questions, answered
Are the chat rooms free?
Yes. Joining and chatting is free, and there's no registration.
Do I have to sign up?
No. You get a random name straight away and can change it any time. If you want to keep your name, you can protect it with a password or get a FunChatX account.
Is it the same room as funchat.in?
Yes. The two sites share one room, so you'll see people from both. FunChatX names end in an X.
Can I chat privately instead?
Yes. Try a random one-to-one text chat, a voice call or a video chat. Or play Scribble with the same crowd.
How do I report someone?
Tap their message, then Report. You can also read our Safety Center.
