This page is for complaints about FunChatX. It is published as the IT Act, 2000, the IT (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 (as amended in 2026), the DPDP Act, 2023 and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020 require. You do not need a lawyer. Write to us and we will deal with it.

What you can complain about
- Content or behaviour on FunChatX that breaks our Community Rules or the law.
- Intimate or nude images of you shared without your consent, including morphed or AI-made ones.
- Someone impersonating you.
- Your personal data: access, correction, erasure, or how it is used (see the Privacy Policy).
- A ban you believe was a mistake.
- A VIP payment or refund problem.
- Copyright or other rights infringement.
- A misleading or inappropriate ad.
How to complain
Email the Grievance Officer from any address and include:
- your name and a way to contact you;
- what the problem is and where it happened (random chat, Global chat, a game, a username or an ad), and roughly when;
- the username involved and screenshots, if you have them;
- for a payment problem: your username and payment reference.
If the content is sexual material involving a child, please do not send it to us. Report it straight to cybercrime.gov.in, and tell us where it appeared so we can act.
How fast we act
- Acknowledgement: within 24 hours of receiving your complaint.
- Resolution: within 7 days of receiving it, or sooner, and within any shorter time the law sets for the kind of complaint.
- Intimate images shared without consent: removed within 2 hours of a valid complaint.
- Court or government orders: content removed or blocked within 3 hours of receiving the order.
- Payment complaints: acknowledged within 48 hours and settled within one month.
- Data requests: answered within 30 days.
We tell you the outcome and our reasons by email. Timelines in the law can change. We follow the shorter of our own commitment and the legal time.
If you are not satisfied
- Appeal to the Grievance Appellate Committee within 30 days of our decision (or of the time we should have replied) at gac.gov.in. This is a free online appeal to the Government of India.
- Data Protection Board of India for personal-data complaints, once it is operational.
- Consumer forums under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 for payment and service disputes.
- Police and cybercrime.gov.in for crimes. Call 112 in an emergency and 1930 for online financial fraud.
Requests from courts and government agencies
Courts, police and authorised government agencies can send orders and requests to [email protected]. We act on valid written orders, give the identity or investigation information the law requires within 72 hours, and preserve removed content and related records for at least 180 days. We do not respond to requests that are not made in writing or do not come from an authorised source.
How we handle child safety
We ban users who share child sexual abuse material permanently, preserve the evidence and report to the police and the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal as the POCSO Act, 2012 and the IT Act require.
